Pep Boys Auto Service & Tires

Way over priced, and had to additionally pay for them to replace my oil filter and top off my oil because they needed to destroy is to get to my crank shaft sensor. Even though there was more than enough clearness to get it to. But that wasn’t the issue the issue was having me have to come additionally out of pocket for something they are destroying. How does that make sense???? A mechanic destroys something in your car that was not listed as part of the service you came in for or your estimated price and you have to pay for it?

We dropped our car off at Wednesday at 8AM for brakes. They inspected the car and told us we needed brakes by 10AM. From then on we heard nothing, no follow up. I finally reached out around 5PM and was told my car was almost done and if they needed to keep it over night they would call me. They never called, kept my car over night I call first thing in the morning and the tech who serviced my car was off and they did not know if it was completed or not. I finally got my car around noon. Incredibly inconvenient and lack of communication.

They made me wait 5 hours for 1 tire. Told me.they were waiting for an approval from Hertz but they had already approved it when they were on the phone with them. If they took less smoke breaks and didnt goof off as much more work would get done. The disrespect from that crew was unbelievable.

If they would have updated the ticket status so i knew when my tires were ready within the timeframe promised this revoew would have been 5 stars. But the tech didnt update the automated system so it didnt text me i had to call and check. The staff was friendly and i had done business here before thats why i drove 10 miles out each way of the way. If i was going to be forgotten and left in limbo (costing 2 stars) anyway i could have gone to the location 2 miles from my house. But i went the extra 20 miles round trip bc i had done business there before.. the work was apparently done just the followthrough needs work. This should have been a 5/5 review. He discounted my ticket some becauee of the inconvience and didnt mention it but i noticed bc it was 210 originally and 190 after. So that gave back 1 star totalling 4. All in all im.happy.it got.done and in the end it worked out. But i am 4 hours behind intended schedule now putting them back on the car. I recommend implementing some ai systems that can supplement and support the staff. Make the the techs compensation directly dependent on the closing out of the ticket when work is completed. I want service to improve i wsnted to b

My car was there for over 15 working hours after dropping it off the previus day at 1300 and being guaranteed that it would be worked on the following morning at the latest, it was not serviced or looked at by a mechanic. I wasn't even given a courtesy call to be warned about a delay in my service, I had to call two hours before closing for them to tell me that my car wouldn't be worked on till the following day! That's a horrible business practice. I took off work because I had no way to get there and you expect me to wait multiple days for a few diagnostics that is ridiculous and I can honestly see no reason to keep using a company that has no respect for the time of others but will be quick as a snake to take my money.
